The single room was average, window single glazed and massive, no view apart from metal pipes whic h were noisy at times, I have a disability and get cold easily but I was so cold I asked reception to put the heating on to the max but this was unsuccessful, they gave me a second quilt but I was freezing cold all night. TV initially didn't work but was resolved after asking at reception who were very nice. If you like privacy for toilets/ showers this is not for you as there was just all clear glass doors. The shower didn't work.

The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent. The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options. In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi. Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility. If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit. This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.

Booked one night to enable us to go on a 'stable tour' the next mornig - absolutely everything was first class... friendly and helpful staff, lovely room with all that you could possibly want in it and one of the best breakfast choices that we've seen in a long time. Will definitely use again...

Good service, been staying here through work for a while. Megan & Poppy were both very helpful and polite in serving me throughout my stays. Room always clean and in good condition. Good food which came out without a long wait. All in all always a good stay

Hotel is right on the A140 main road, so access is sporty with the speed of the traffic, especially when leaving. Hotel is a motel style, with rooms set away from reception and the main road, but are spacious with all the standard equipment. Breakfast was a selection of continental and hot food in trays, with eggs cooked to order. As it was getting near the end of the service, coffee was lukewarm at best and it took a while to get the eggs. Didn’t eat in the restaurant or used any of the other facilities.

When we arrived we were greeted By Sue who was a lovely lady she got us booked in and told where to go to get to our room, it was only one flight up but as Me and my partner couldn't climb the stairs we went up by lift, there was only a couple of steps to get up to our room, it was basic but it was lovely, we tried to shut the window but it was stuck but apart from that is was a lovely room, we went to our friends wedding reception which was lovely the room was massive and the table were laid out really well, we had some of the evening buffet which was really lovely too ::) we got up for breakfast again lovely but I think they need to replace their toasters as they didn't cook very well and my partner's first lot of toast got stuck and burned but all in all we loved the stay :)

Stayed hear the night before my flight , lovely couple that run this place ,made me feel very welcome when I arrived , had a lovely cup of tea and a chat before being shown my room , which had everything I needed , TV , tea,and coffee , comfy bed , nice and clean , it's like home from home, nothing was to much trouble for them except me probably lol , I had to ask for assistance , as been on my own ,I couldn't open the window ,get the TV on, they helped me get my flights passes and even put my eye drops in for me. Thank you for having me ,see you again .

Lovely hotel very friendly staff clean rooms good parking

I wasn't sure what to expect from this establishment but everything was terrific. Travelling on a great value two month 1st class Eurailpass, I arrived by Greater Anglia train punctual to the minute and walked 150 metres. The pleasant lady owner stored my case. Arriving back at 1900 on a Friday night, the bar was humming. I enjoyed a delicious seafood platter, although it lacked large prawns as I am used to in Australia and Philippines. It had a good amount of salad. Food has improved in England from my first visit 30 tears ago when dining was poor. The accommodation is not suitable for the disabled as stairs are steep. The room was spacious and delightful with the feminine touch evident in the bee theme even on the doona cover. There were two chairs, classy furniture, excellent lighting and a TV. Lamps were trendy. No aircon so on a 29 degree day the room might be stuffy. A wide range of breakfast items were supplied including yoghurt. Some were in the fridge in the corridor. The bathroom also had great shower gel and shampoo plus even cotton ear buds. Shower pressure was reasonable and hot water sufficient. Towels were good but no bathmat. One mosquito greeted me at dawn. It was dealt with. There was some intruding light early evening as no blackout curtains in the bathroom or to the side of the bed. Great to see the intermodal Freightliner and GBRailFreight trains belting through Westerfield, keeping trucks with their cowboy drivers off the congested roads. The owners here have done a great job with the hotel that at GBP60 was great value.

Easy parking. Well kept garden to the rear. Friendly young man on reception even though there were problems with the booking. There were 8 of us for an evening meal and we were in a side room of the restaurant which was very good . The meal was excellent and the restaurant manager was fun. The breakfasts again were very good and the lady taking and delivering our orders was very sweet.. That's the good bits. We were in room 16 which had grubby and broken glass in the windows , the curtains would not pull across using the cords and the lining on the back was ripped. I had to use a shoe to hold the window open. Every bit of furniture had some edging ***** missing exposing the chipboard. The shower tray was very slippery. Not 4 star.
