Hotel 3-Star di Eastern Region, Iceland

Wasn't expecting much but ended up so pleasantly surprised! My elderly parents and I absolutely loved our stay here! One of the best places we stayed in Iceland this trip. The Guesthouse manager (matnus? Sorry I'm not sure how his name is spelt!) was kind enough to help us arrange a last minute change of room as we changed our minds and wanted to upgrade to a bigger room. We stayed at the one bedroom apartment and everything was lovely. Squeaky clean, even for a clean freak like me. The place was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. I noticed there is a thick layer of cushion over the sofa bed so this was the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. My parents also said the double bed was very very comfortable. Highly highly recommend this Guesthouse!

Location: Good, located next to the lake, with restaurants and attractions nearby Facilities: We stayed in a two-person room on the third floor. The room was a bit small, and a suitcase larger than a boarding suitcase might get stuck; the extension cord had poor contact, the hot water pressure was sufficient, and it came with a hair dryer, soap, shampoo and Conditioner; there is chess to play in the public area. But why does the 4-person room on the first floor have a hot water kettle (as seen through the window when walking by the lake), but not upstairs? ! Service: The first floor is under renovation, self-service is provided, keys are provided in envelopes for self-pickup, no breakfast is provided, only paper is enclosed in the envelope. Recommended restaurants Others: Located next to the road, with no airtight windows and poor sound insulation

The location was picture perfect. I could write a book of all of the pleasant features and positive moments. The restaurant staff in particular was wonderful. I felt so well taken care of. The dock behind the hotel was a great place to visit. The water was a color I have never seen before and so clear that I could see the rocks on the bottom. There were jelly fish, birds and a seal. I took my dessert upstairs and ate it on my balcony facing the water. Afterwards, I walked up the hill and found a cemetery with French soldiers. I wish I had booked for more than one night.

Centrally located close to domestic airport, gas station and supermarket. Hotel appears to be converted from an old building but is nicely maintained with a charming lobby. Room size is bigger than other Iceland hotels. Shower is only separated from toilet by a shower curtain, so bathroom would get a bit wet but not a big issue. Both dinner and breakfast are good. Better reserve for dinner as it gets busy. O sure washing machine is handy, although may need to wait a bit as there is only one machine. Staff are generally helpful. Overall a pleasant stay.

The room was a bit small for my family of three. But the bathroom is very spacious. Room is also clean. Room does not have a kettle but there is a common pantry which was useful. The main issue was check in because the check in was not actually at hotel post itself but at the other hotel next door and instructions were not clearly given. We panicked a bit initially because we reached quite late and could not find a way to get into hotel post. Luckily we managed to call the hotel and was told that check in is in the other building.

Facilities: OK The kitchen facilities are fully equipped, but the bathroom needs to be used off-peak. Many times, it is directly outdoors to brush your teeth. Because it is the peak season, the bathroom needs to wait in line. Hygiene: OK Environment: OK Service: more timely

This hotel is very suitable for vacation and leisure. It is located in a forest. The front desk drove a golf cart to deliver our luggage to the door of the room. The hotel is a bit far from the center of Egilsstadt. The breakfast is average with few options. The dinner is okay, but the steak is too old. The chef came out to greet us personally and replaced it with cod according to our request.

This stay was truly excellent! The guesthouse was very comfortable overall, with a large kitchen equipped with new and complete appliances that were very convenient to use. The rooms were also spacious, and the overall environment was clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. Furthermore, the location is fantastic; if you're lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights, making this stay even more special! The only minor suggestion is that it would be more convenient if the check-in process or contact information were clearly provided beforehand. We waited a little while after arriving and were able to contact someone before successfully checking in. However, overall, this didn't affect our positive impression of the guesthouse at all, and we highly recommend it!

My friend and I made a mistake booking our trip, but we're very lucky to have found this location as a stop between our destination. It was fantastic. The food was amazing. The service was friendly and helpful and overall I would say any traveler who is making their way through that area should stop there even if it's just for a night

Excellent location near the end of the street, with nice views of the river and mountain/waterfalls. Room was a little too squeezy even for a family of four (with two small kids), but spotless and cozy. Common area was well stocked with beverages and ideal for socialising.
