Hotel 2-Star di Faro District, Portugal

This is by far the best hostel I stayed at, in spite of the number of occupants. I was lucky to have very quiet boys in the room. There’s only one bathroom, connected to the room, but it worked. The hostel is new, modern and spotless. The owner is very friendly. The hostel is also 5 minutes walk from the beach. It was perfect. It’s a long walk to Albufeira from the city buses, and not very clear where the FlixBus stops. I wouldn’t recommend walking from the train station, which took me 4 hours. There’s a local bus, don’t scrimp = TAKE IT. Or take an Uber, or Bolt. Or ask the taxi what he wants to charge from the bus stop at the train station ! The RedeExpress is where the bus station is (but not for the FlixBus). In summary, you can go to Albufeira by FlixBus, but it’s difficult to know where FlixBus leaves Albufeira from. That all said, Albufeira is very difficult in high season, TOO CROWDED, but the Portuguese are tolerant and very patient because they know that tourism is lucrative and has raised the whole country out of poverty. Residents enjoy cheap and / or free public transport on local buses (cheap monthly passes). Residents are respectful and kind. You can practice your Portuguese with them for a laugh, but they all speak English to varying degrees. Here you can meet real residents. On the beach, not necessarily in the pubs. I loved it here. Don’t miss it.

Perfect for budget travelers, this hostel in Lagos' old town offers good value by balancing a central location with a quiet, restful atmosphere. Great location. 5 minute walk to main bus station, 5 minute walk to the harbour strip. Room was spotless, as were toilets and showers. Was a locker and key if required. Though I never used the kitchen, it was clean and looked well stocked. The sun terrace is amazing, traps the sun the whole day. Plenty of grocery and restaurants in the street. Highly recommend!

Great location! Cozy «family» dinners for cheap every night at Hostellicious with delicious homemade dishes, wine, sangria at the family barbecue at Casa D’Alagoa (see pictures) Everybody was very respectful in my 6 person female only room, and quiet at night. Made friends with many of them every day during my stay!  Lots of places to hang with people both inside and on the patio, beautiful interior  Lots of activities with great prices just for people staying at the hostel, like boat tours, hiking, bike rentals, pub crawls every night with hostellicious Bring a padlock with a thick neck, a thinwire padlock doesn’t work for keeping your drawer locked.  Sun umbrellas can be rented for like €3!! Took it to the praia de Faro. Just a ten min walk to the port from the hostel, €4 with the ferry, amazing long strip of beaches  Faro has my ♡

La struttura è datata e necessita di una ristrutturazione, soprattutto le camere e la piscina. In camera non c'è il phon, ma è possibile chiederlo alla reception. Le camere vanno rinnovate, sono veramente spoglie, basterebbe un po' di colore alle pareti e mettere qualche quadro colorato. Runner e cuscini in velluto sono ormai superati e inutili, finiti immediatamente dentro l armadio. In bagno, la carta igienica è talmente soffice, che si sgretola in mano, soprattutto quando in bagno si crea vapore quando si apre l acqua calda. Ci sono 2 terrazze solarium, dove ci sono solo dei lettini. Le terrazze mi hanno dato l impressione di essere abbandonate, se ci fossero degli ombrelloni e dei tavolini e qualcuno venisse ogni tanto a portare dei teli e a chiedere se si ha bisogno di qualcosa, sarebbe sicuramente una cosa diversa. Anche in piscina mancano gli ombrelloni. Inoltre, noi avevamo la camera sullo stesso piano della piscina, purtroppo dovevamo tenere sempre la tenda chiusa, altrimenti gli altri ospiti potevano guardarci dentro la camera, ed era necessario accendere la luce anche in pieno giorno, altrimenti non si vedeva nulla. Suggerisco di mettere, oltre alla tenda oscurante, anche una tendina leggera, che blocchi gli sguardi indiscreti ma faccia passare la luce. Sarebbe il caso anche di ristrutturare camere, bagno e corridoi. È un peccato, perché la zona della reception, con le pareti verde chiaro e il divanetto tondo è molto carina. La zona colazione è ok, ma purtroppo non c è varietà. Oltre al prosciutto cotto, si potrebbero usare, a rotazione, magari, anche altri salumi. Inserire anche uova sode o all'occhio, latte e yogurt senza lattosio, qualche formaggio, cambiate gusti delle marmellate, mettere cioccolata spalmabile, waffles al posto dei pancake, ecc... C è un bar, ma non viene utilizzato da nessuno, peccato. Il personale è sempre stato estremamente gentile e disponibile. Ricordo il sorriso di Carolina che ci ha fatto il check in e con una mappa alla mano ci ha spiegato tutto, un collega uomo, anche lui molto sorridente, che in serata mi ha gentilmente fornito il phon, e la signora con il quale abbiamo fatto il check out. Anche le signore della colazioni molto disponibili, e una volta ci hanno fatto entrare anche se siamo arrivati tardi. Do comunque un voto alto, per non penalizzare nessuno, ma fiduciosa che il feedback serva a migliorare.

There is a bar on the first floor that is open late, so it can be a bit noisy at night, so it may be difficult for sensitive people.

Negative points: The beds were not very comfortable for two people as they are not well bundled. The showers are also improved, you need to press the button every three seconds to get water and have no tub, so the screw is fixed. The room was very comfortable and was very comfortable. First of all, I'm really loving Faro! The staff here are all very nice and helpful. At the beginning of the night, the window was open, so it was a bit noisy and hard to sleep. But someone in the room turned on the AC, which made it better in the end. The shower and bathroom were average, but the public area was cozy and comfortable. I didn't join, but they also offer some special dinner options. It was just a one-night stay, but overall, a good place to stay.

The location is good, and the male staff member was really friendly! However, I stayed here for 2 nights, and the room was incredibly humid, the bathroom was very old, and the bedding... was truly something else. The bathroom doorknob was so old it felt uncomfortable to touch. While the staff were friendly and the location was good, I regretted my stay a bit... I wish I had paid 100,000 won more and booked somewhere else. Unless you're a traveler who prioritizes value for money above all else, please look at my photos and reconsider!

This was such a beautiful stay. All the staff there were so lovely and accomodating. When arrived we were told we had a room upgrade which was amazing, we also had a bus which didn’t leave until later and the staff were lovely enough to let us leave our bags and hang around until we needed to go. The pool is area is beautiful and so spacious, there is also an amazing restaurant next door.
