There’s a baby alpaca that works in the courtyard! The hotel is nice and clean and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback is it’s slightly further from the main square, but it’s not too bad if you enjoy strolling through the city. The location is closer to the more local part of Cusco so the restaurants nearby have more Peruvian fare, highly recommend!

Belmond Monasterio: The Best Hotel in Cusco, Beyond Any Comparison
Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice.
The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece.
Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt.
I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name.
In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio.

石畳の街を歩き、重厚な扉をくぐった瞬間、まるで時がゆるやかにほどけていくようでした。古い修道院を改装したホテルは、荘厳でありながらも温かく、石壁に灯る柔らかな光が旅人をやさしく迎えてくれます。
チェックインの時に感じた標高の高さも、スタッフの細やかな気配りと、ロビーに漂う落ち着いた香りに包まれていると、すっと軽くなるような気がしました。中庭のアーチを見上げると、過去と現在が静かに重なり合い、クスコという街そのものの魂に触れているようでした。
部屋に入ると、静けさの中に漂う温もりが心を落ち着かせてくれます。窓の外に広がる石造りの街並みは、日ごとに違う表情を見せ、夜には星々がひときわ近く輝いていました。
ここで過ごした時間は、ただの宿泊ではなく、心を深く潤す体験。古の気配と現代の快適さが溶け合う空間で、旅の一瞬一瞬が大切な思い出へと変わっていきました。

We had an amazing stay. The food was incredible, especially the breakfast. And the service was better than anywhere else. They helped us with everything we needed and treated us like family :)

AAnonymous UserI love the hospitality of their staffs. Alfredo is really great and informative receptionist. I had Walter escorted me to my room and tell the details about the hotel and the nearby kusikancha which I can see from the rooftop windows. It is in walking distance from every historical sites. The oxygen supplement and coca tea just in case you suffer the altitude sickness, luckily I haven't used it.

Kudos to Enrique who demonstrate an excellent service and Jesus who explain very well about the hotel and room amenities. They are always accommodating when you need help. Best location in Cusco. Will definitely book again this hotel when I come back to Cusco.
