GGuest UserCost wise it was reasonable, and the location is bang in the middle of Plymouth shopping area. Parking is right under the hotel, and check in was quick. Room was very tidy and spacious, and cool enough but no air conditioning., just fan. Staff were all lovely, bar staff, reception and service staff, notably Christopher at breakfast who went out of his way to entertain my little girl. Food wise was OK, but 2 complaints. The breakfast orange juice is not fresh, or it's watered down, not nice. And for evening meal I ordered fish and chips, and it was a SLIVER of fish in batter....which for the cost was ridiculous. The staff were very understanding, but the kitchen should definitely seen a new supplier. Overall, it was a lovely stay and would definitely go back...my gripes are purely for management if they wish to address them for future guests. Recommend.

GGuest UserThe overall performance is good, the geographical environment is good, not far from Bude Beach and Tintagle Castle , the hotel has a large space, natural ecological environment outdoors, indoor swimming pool and game room, suitable for family vacations.

AAlbert YLDinner and B’fast is good in term of quality and staff friendliness but few unpleasant experiences during the stay happened
1. Rooms nearby possible is family with few rooms together as whole night is keep the door banging noise in and out
2. The bath room door cannot close properly maybe the door hinges is a bit loosing
3. Smoke detector activated at around 11:00 for around 1 min, and I found that it is a testing but no one informed in advance upon check in or guest letter in room until I approached to the housekeeper and clarified
4. Started in the morning around 10am, housekeeping staff start cleaning the rooms nearby but the door keep banging banging more than 20 times, it is really annoying
5. Cleanliness, few hair found in the washroom basin and one piece on the duvet cover
In conclusion, hotel location is good, staff friendly but the hardware and fire alarm is really made my stay unpleasant

GGuest UserHotel clean, breakfast had a god variety of food location is great.
Unfortunately we had an issue outside our bedroom which I reported to reception in the morning as I feel it is a security issue.
In the middle of the night we had a man knock on our door and he tried to get in. He was walking up and down the corridor and appeared to be drunk. He then lay outside our room and fell asleep. About 30 minutes later we heard him again knock on another door.
Although we think he was probably a resident it did concern us as anyone could get access to the bedrooms as there is no security to get up the stairs. There is no swipe card access and I think this needs to be addressed as it is a safety concern.

AAndyPPThe hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking.
We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service.
Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing.
The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay.
I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped.
Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet.
However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'.
We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.

GGuest UserThis is a rather old hotel, but it's in a great location, right opposite Exeter Central Station. There's plenty of hot water, and the cleanliness is acceptable. However, the elevator was broken when I arrived, and the soundproofing isn't great. It's a bit pricey, but very convenient for getting around.

The charismatic entrance foyer draws you into this wonderful exquisite reception area
We had the upmost pleasure in staying on New Years Eve
& were greeted with a lovely glass of free champagne in letting the New year in
They also had a really good modern band playing the finest of music in one of their opulent rooms
We would grant this very fine hotel a definite 5 Stars experience

88285SueHWe stayed for just one night. A much better experience than we had expected, given some of the recent reviews.
The room was large and clean. The bathroom was also very clean and had a lovely,spacious walk-in shower.
The bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Our only negative was that the car park was absolutely full when we arrived at 3:30pm … and the staff checking us in couldn’t have cared less!

One room freezing the other boiling. The air conditioning is not as reliable!
Rooms again varied. Although I chose the same one was spacious and airy the other a bit more crammed
I was told check in was FROM 3pm and we were not allowed in till 4.30 what complicated our plans.
The breakfast is good but super busy. Not enough staff to manage the demand. Felt bad for the staff running around!
Overall good! Great location!

GGuest UserVery well placed for the Sandy Park Exeter Chiefs rugby club. The hotel is clean, staff helpful & friendly & maintained to a high standard. Food is a bit expensive but nice. Breakfast is buffet style & has many choices. We use this hotel regularly & recommend it
