My family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise. The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site. One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days. At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us. Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

房間很乾凈，還擺放了景田礦泉水，老闆很熱情，詳細介紹了黃山的旅遊路線，前台還打印了許多黃山線路圖，前台沙發休息區有很多登山杖，上黃山可以取免費的登山杖，上完山，還回去就可以了。臨走的時候還推薦了一家特色飯店，價格公道，口味不錯，很有特色。這裏離黃山很近，往下坡路走，3-5分鐘就到了，很方便，關鍵價格實惠。這家店去哪可以聯繫車，很方便，我們回去要坐高鐵，每人30元，把我們送到了建德高鐵站。綜合起來從衞生、服務、環境和設施整體評價是好評！下次有機會還住這裏！

Stayed in this guesthouse for the weekend, had great experience! Was able to contact the housekeeper in advance and got recommendations in English where to spend our time. The room on the top floor is spacious, has nice view. You have everything you need in the room, also very clean. The hotel is located at the foot of the mountains, took us 10 mins drive to get to Huangshan main entrance. As for food, it’s all Chinese cuisine but it’s very fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place to others!

Hidden gem // Cosy homestay with lovely and caring hosts - 10/10 recommend! We loved our stay at Villa Emerald Valley especially due to: + Lovely hosts: super friendly, multi generational, from the neighborhood and always keen to fulfill all our wishes even before we knew them + Bright, modern, clean and cosy rooms: Big windows, clean and modern bathroom facilities (great hot shower that is truly needed after a day in the mountain), really comfy beds, water boiler, etc. + Nice common area: game room, restaurant, tea table, small pool + Tasty food: breakfast, lunch and dinner freshly prepared, many options (also vegetarian), fresh fruits and tea, decent prices -＞ we loved their tomato&egg, bamboo, qingcai and tofu dishes + Smooth communication and great service: quick responses via WeChat, airport pick up (200¥ one way), support with ticket booking for huangshan, carrying luggage, extra fruits, etc. + Emerging into the community: as it was tea harvest time, the hosts took us to the tea mountain close by where we could help picking tea leaves + Location: huangshan is overall really touristy with a lot of group tourism and thus overall probably not the nicest place to stay for a longer time. However, the home stay, while being close to all main tourist attractions, lies very calm and right beside the mountains where locals live and work, so it does not feel touristy at all and you could easily spend several days there to explore and relax Also , the hosts can speak some English, so communication for foreigners is not a problem.

We had an absolutely delightful experience during our stay at this Airbnb! The owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. As cat lover myself, I was thrilled to be accompanied by their three adorable cats, adding an extra layer of charm to our stay. The room was clean, neatly organized, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast prepared by the owner. What made our departure even more special was the thoughtful gesture of packing breakfast for us on the day we had to catch an early train. The convenience of having access to drivers associated with the Airbnb made exploring nearby townships a breeze. This thoughtful amenity significantly added to the overall positive experience of our stay. Should I find myself back in Huangshan, there is no doubt that I would choose to stay here again. This Airbnb is a top choice for anyone visiting the area. Highly recommended!

Good location half way between the main bus station and the South entrance for Huanshang Mountain. They provided a free car to take us to the entrance on the morning of the trip at 7.30am. One of the workers, made contact via wechat and met with us to explain (using translation app) how and where to go on the trail once up on the mountain and how much go pay, routes to avoid and how to get home. He was extremely helpful despite the language barrier. The bedroom was large and spacious and a good hot shower. The images on the advert were npt as we found it unfortunately. The inside space was outdated and we found it in need of some love and care. The reception was damp and mouldy, the same in the bedroom under the window. We paid for a window room but had small windows as we were on the 5th floor. The curtains and drapes were ripped and need to be replaced. We ate at the restaurant multiple times and this was really good and reasonably priced. There is a shop on site and always people around ready to help. It just needs a good paint job and some new touches in the bedrooms / removal of ripped drapes. It was a shame as the images online do not reflect the actual room we had. I have only good things to say about my one night stay. I had an excellent time at this bed and breakfast as a solo tourist visiting the Huangshan mountain. I consider myself an experienced world traveler and can confidently say the owner of this BnB is among the kindest and most patient people you could find in the hospitality and tourism industry. Although she doesn’t speak much English, she will find any way possible to help you and make sure you have a comfortable stay. My room was a smoking room but the owner opened the windows (this was in mid April so the temperature was quite mild) so the smell did not bother me that much. There is a very nice shower in the room with good water pressure. The bed and mattress are great. The owner kept my bags in her storage for one night after I checked out so I could go up to Huangshan mountain (I spent one night up in the mountain and then returned to her BnB to pickup my bags an leave town). The owner also is a great cook! And if you are a tea lover, make sure you try/buy her tea (she has a tea farm and picks the tea leaves herself) as this region is famous for its green tea. I would love to come back one day, hopefully with my family or friends.

We are very happy in choosing this hotel. It is a small hotel just beside a gate - where to go to the entrance point to take a bus to cable car station. The hotel staff is quick in responding in wechat. We ask for a taxi pick up. The price is 160 yuan. We didnot negotiate the price. They also allow us to change room. The rooms' decoration is not the same. The hotel and room are very very clean. The bed is comfortable. We have good sleep here. A simple chinese breakfast is provided. I like the bao. There is also some fruits. A lot of restaurants nearby the hotel. Most all them sell the same menu. Good that we found a kind of claypot restaurant. The information to go up to the mountain was given in very detail. They provided sticks and rain coats. When we went up, it was rainy and fogging. Yet, it is still beautiful. We also went to Hongchun Old Town. We like this place. The other place, Fencun Village is not that good. Of course this is subjective. The hotel can help you to arrange the car. We are happy to visit Huangshan and stay in this hotrl

The location of the hotel is very convenient, about 5 mins by car from the South gate ticket office and the bus that goes down the hill stops just 20 mins from the hotel. The room is small but it was enough for me since I traveled alone. The staff is friendly, the manager is very helpful. I didn’t find anything for dinner that I liked and they cooked the delicious mushroom chicken for me. It seems I was the only foreigner in the town and I had the problem with my local nuclear acid test, it was not shown in WeChat and the man from the staff brought me to the sampling point by his car to do the test again. It’s was not shown either after that, by the way. There’s the supermarket right downstairs and the massage room which was super nice after the hiking. But I ordered the foot massage only but the lady said she would do the back and shoulders, too. So she charged me x2 price (98+98) since the whole body massage is 150ish.
