Hotel 4-Star di Ehime Prefecture, Japan

This hotel is right next to the coffee shop on the left side when you exit Matsuyama-shi Station tram stop. If you're coming from Matsuyama Port, you can take the tram from Takahama Station directly to the hotel. The facilities are quite new as it just recently opened. Every afternoon, guests can enjoy complimentary welcome drinks, and there's free ice cream in the evenings, which is a great draw. The hotel's location is excellent for getting around; Matsuyama-shi Station, which has many buses to Shikoku, Tokyo, Osaka, and Okayama, is right downstairs.

Late-night soba noodles: Nice, very cozy. Natural hot spring ”Ishi-no-yu” (free for guests): It gets quite crowded, so you need to go at the right time. Many hotels in Japan have this kind of facility, and it's really comfortable. Service: The front desk staff speak English, but not Chinese.

I really love the Daiwa hotel chain... it's affordable and comfortable. The location is excellent, within walking distance to Mitsukoshi, and Akihabara is also nearby. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to Dogo Onsen, but the parking lot can be busy since it's a multi-story garage, so there might be a wait. The parking fee is reasonable, and the parking attendants are very helpful... Overall, I recommend staying here.

I stayed here as part of my Tokyo Love Story pilgrimage. The facilities, hygiene, and environment were all absolutely perfect, truly impeccable. The only issue was that when I booked, it showed no breakfast included, but the reservation slip provided by the front desk indicated breakfast. I returned the breakfast voucher to the front desk and asked them to double-check, as 3000 yen isn't a small amount. The front desk said they would verify and call my room, but I never heard back, even until check-out. For a hotel of this caliber, I really think this is unacceptable, especially since this was the part I was most looking forward to in Matsuyama. However, despite this minor flaw, the rest of my experience was absolutely perfect.

The hotel is not close to Dogo Onsen street and you will need to drive or get a taxi if you want to go there. There are no restaurants or shops nearby the hotel. There is a walk nearby the hotel you can take which offers nice scenery in the woods. The hotel looks a bit dated particularly the bedrooms and the corridors. I asked for a quiet room facing the mountain instead of one facing a busy road and had to pay an additional 2200 yen. The hotel has a number of onsens and I like the outdoor ones best. The buffet dinner and breakfast offer good selection and I particularly like the dinner which offered nice teppanyaki beef and sushi. The hotel reception staff spoke very little English and the hotel did not reply to an email I sent them asking for transportation information to get to the hotel. There are buses near the hotel which go to Matsuyama and Imabari but they run infrequently.

Amazing value for such a high class hotel. Spacious rooms, beautiful spa with indoor and outdoor baths. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly. About 10 mins walk from JR station. I always stay here when visiting Imabari.

Room The room was spacious and clean. The furniture was stylish and made me feel relaxed. The presence of a sauna was a big plus. Having the toilet separate from the bathroom was also nice. Location I think it's in a good location for sightseeing in the city. Also, since the hotel is on the 8th floor of a department store, it was convenient for eating and buying souvenirs. Parking I parked in the adjacent multi-story parking garage. There was a connecting walkway, so getting around was convenient.

The hotel is quite new and modern. The onsen is nice, but tattoos are not allowed (covering them with stickers is ok). The rooms are impeccable and well furnished, but on the smaller side.

We wanted to experience Dogo Onsen and this was a great choice (albeit expensive because it was a holiday weekend). The hotel is lovely and the service is beyond excellent. The staff was super kind as we are English speakers. Plus, we really enjoyed the hotels onsens better than the ones in town (the Dogo Onsen is being renovated and only one room was open for each gender; the same was the case with the Annex). The hotels onsens were lovely and the private outdoor onsen was a really lovely experience. We also took advantage of their convenient bus service into town although it’s only a 10 minute walk and we walked multiple times. Highly recommend!

The location is excellent. Right across the street is the main shopping street, where you can find plenty of options for food, drinks, and shopping. If you turn left after leaving the hotel, you can walk up to Matsuyama Castle. Along the way, you'll see trendy shops, stores selling local specialty oranges, and souvenir shops. On the main street, there's a udon noodle shop (the one in my photo) that perfectly suited my Shanghai palate with its fresh and slightly sweet flavor. That was our breakfast in Matsuyama. Our room was on a high floor, and with the window open, we had a great view of Matsumoto Castle and Bansuiso Villa. Most of the guests staying at this hotel seemed to be Korean. One of the middle-aged women at the front desk spoke excellent Chinese. The room was a bit small, but the convenient location made up for it, though the price was slightly on the higher side.
