Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

Convenient location and walking distance to the bay. Spacious room with luxury design. Bathroom with privacy at the back of the room. Very comfy bedding and nice staff. The coffee dispenser was empty in the lobby, will be perfect if refilled it in time.

The location is very good, on West Hollywood Avenue. The only thing is that the lower floors are facing the street and it is a bit noisy. I originally lived on the 2nd floor. It was Friday and Saturday. There was a party downstairs and it was very noisy. Later, I helped move to a higher floor. The restaurant food was very fresh and delicious. The overall experience was good.

Staying on a day whwn the weather was horrible undoutably did not help this being good review as we were unable to use the pool areas or enjoy the balconies or the bikes etc but I have to say I was disappointed in the room itself given the cost. When it costs in the $600 range I expected more. 300 square feet, with one chair, a bench along one wall facing away from the TV and a work space that I can only describe as laughable is less than I expected. I confess if I had paid more attention to the pictures, they were accurate. The quality of the bedding and the towels etc were top notch as were the robes and other aids. The fridge was strange but it met our needs. The lighting was interesting. Lights turned them selves off and on automatically not always when you wanted them to, including in the middle of the night if you did not want wake your partner. When the lights went off in half the room we were startled but it seems this just might be to keep the electric bill down as when we rentered the area they came back on. They tell you the internet and parking are free but are they? They were the only two things I recieved for a $60 resort fee. On the bright side the staff was excellent though they would benifit having a larger check in area. The dinner at their restaurant was outstanding. Beware, that if you have any walking disabilities some rooms not on the first floor are only accessible via the stair way. Our designated room was one of them and we have disabilities. The staff was able to do some moving around and all was well but if you are going to stay there make sure they are aware.

Anonymous UserI checked in late, around midnight. Even though I had to wait a while, the front desk staff was very friendly. The room can't compare to hotels in China, but for North America, it was decent. However, the breakfast service was absolutely shocking. I ordered food and waited forever. The vegetables were yellow and even rotten, and I won't even go into that. But the meat inside was so salty it was practically inedible. When I told the male server, he actually got angry and asked me, 'What do you want?' I looked at him, utterly confused, and then he offered to get me an avocado dish instead. Then began another long wait. My friend and I just got up to leave. I asked another server (and even the front desk staff) where to pay. The other server then ran to the kitchen and told my server, 'Your guest doesn't want to pay and is trying to run off.' I was dumbfounded. I stay in countless hotels every month, and this is the first and only time I've ever encountered someone like this. And this is supposed to be a five-star hotel.

HippyponkThe hotel is situated near residential areas, so it’s quiet at night and safe. Most of the male staff are kind of friendly however the female staff (one bartender, one at the service desk are extremely rude). When I checked in the hotel, the toilet was flooded and TV remote wasn’t working. They fixed it promptly afterwards which is fine.
However, don’t book the hotel unless you considered these few things:
1) there is a resort fee is $58 USD added on top of your booking, they offer $32 dining credit with the resort fee but charge $8USD for delivery fee for in-room dining (not including tips, tax etc)
2) valet parking is $66USD. There are no many parking options near the hotel so you have no choice but to pay these.
Don’t be fooled by the cheap room prices until you consider these extra cost abovez
So if you stay in the hotel, be prepared to be charged additional ~ $120 USD per night on top of what you’ve booked here on trip .

TiaotiaoI think it's absolutely fantastic! First off, it's pretty close to the park; a taxi ride is only about ten bucks, and walking back after the park closes at night takes just over ten minutes – a real time and effort saver. Secondly, the price is simply amazing. Three nights here cost less than one night at an official hotel. Since official hotels don't offer early entry anymore, it makes sense to save some money. A taxi to Goofy's Kitchen was also ten bucks, so we got to have our first meal in the US and explore the park's hotel! 😂 The official check-in time is 4 PM, but we arrived around 12 PM, and the lady at the front desk checked us in right away – super grateful for that! We got drenched in a downpour and came into a super warm room for a great nap. The fridge in the room works perfectly, and the bed is very comfortable. My room was even next to the ice machine, which was incredibly convenient! There are plenty of outlets in the room, so no worries there. My mom said the pool was great, but I didn't go. Everything was awesome, except for the shower water pressure being a bit low (though the next hotel I stayed at also had low water pressure, is California experiencing a water shortage? 🥹).

The mattress and pillows were super comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The room was spacious and bright with plenty of storage, and generally clean. The lobby and gym were also great. However, some room facilities need maintenance: the shower water pressure was extremely low, making it difficult to shower; and the power outlet on the desk was constantly malfunctioning. Although it briefly worked when the maintenance team checked it, it failed again after they left, meaning I couldn't use the coffee machine properly throughout my stay. Housekeeping was sometimes late (coming after noon and not cleaning the bathroom), and there was no turndown service.

A hotel that is small but well-equipped. The hotel is adjacent to the Union Square shopping district. Turn left three blocks away and you will find the Neiman Marcus department store. The hotel is small and old, but it is very exquisite, clean and refreshing. There are many Indian-style decorations in the lobby, which is very atmospheric. The hotel service staff are extremely enthusiastic. The doorman immediately helped unload the luggage, delivered it all the way to the room, and even helped dust the dust. In the evening, they will also give you chocolate-filled snacks. The room is very clean and comfortable, and is also equipped with an electric kettle, knitted bathrobes, and slippers. The bed sheets are also like domestic hotels using quilt covers and duck down quilts. The toiletries are all made from the old British brand Molton Brown, and the fragrance lasts a long time. In short, this Taj Hotel is a secret treasure in the center of Sanban City. It has the warmth of home and the luxury of a third world country. Highly recommended!

PiqiumaThe hotel is very close to the aquarium. The room was large and had a fireplace, which made it very warm. There was a long sofa bed by the window, but I kept hitting my head on the corner of the wall! I hit it so hard I forgot to take pictures. The bathroom faucet was leaking, and I called twice but no one answered. When checking in, the front desk saw Asian faces and put them in a different building. I had read other guest comments before and it turns out they were true. The other building had a long corridor connecting it, and the room faced the street, which was extremely noisy. There was a constant mix of music and loud motorcycle sounds. This night was too long, I had to wait until dawn. Breakfast was very good, generous portions and delicious. The restaurant and parking attendants were all very nice.
