Hotel 3-Star di Catalonia, Spain

On arrival the holiday centre was as photographed on the website, fresh, bright, airy and modernised. Apartments are spacious with 2 wide single beds pushed together in the main room which leads off on to an exceptionally generous size balcony. Plenty of room for kids to play, loungers and table and chairs etc. the bed in the hallway (pull down from wall) was comfy and great for my 9 year old son. The livingroom couches were also single beds and of good quality and wide enough, seem some very slim, thin ones before - these were very comfy although never slept in by us as my daughter had a cot.  Check in and out was seamless but be aware a deposit is taken (around £10 per night and given back at end of apartment is left satisfactory) so factor this in to your spends needed initially.  The thing that stood out for us as a family was the lovely man and his assistants who ran the kids club, entertainment, pool games and really engaged with the children despite his obviously long days. They are a credit to the hotel and I don’t think it would attract as many families if this small but important team weren’t on board - my son Jacob loved kids club and made some great friends for the week. Now is still recommend this hotel with given some recommendations to change things. The hotel caters to very large, roudy crowds of preteens/teens on school holiday stays. They are chaotic and woke our toddler several times, running through corridors screaming, taking up lift where pushchairs and wheelchair users should have priority and teens/groups managed more carefully as they would be if from anywhere else. Called to reception to complain and inform but was pretty much brushed off as they’re excited. Just not great for the rest of us also wanting to enjoy our apartment, sleep and have children. We waited an incredibly long time with 20-30 teens in front of us. I called down to reception one evening as they were shouting, banging and screaming in the halls. Some hotels do not cater to exceptionally large groups for this reason, especially when catering to family holidays also - I’d only stay again if I knew there was no large groups such as this booked to stay. We only ate breakfast the last morning as we preferred to go out to dinners etc as a social thing in the evenings with the children as we don’t drink alcohol much when have young children with us. Food was as expected in hotels, nothing bad to note and plenty of options which are the norm.  If you like quiet this hotel might not be for you. Po. Kew is loud due to entertainment although this didn’t bother us with it stopping at 11pm but the ‘quieter’ side facing out to the road/side was filled with already mentioned large groups of teens shouting back and forth to each other continually. Highly recommend checking if these school trips are on when booking if you like a quiet, relaxed family holiday (most of us do when we have young children). All in all the hotel is great location, good sized rooms and entertainment for much younger children but would be put off returning due to the issues mentioned.

Such a bargain! The hotel was amazing and great value for money. The receptionists were lovely and really made our stay worthwhile. Amazing location! And they even had a swimming pool available for us to use!!!! Would definitely go bac

I arrived in Barcelona a day earlier than my booking, and the hotel responded to my email incredibly quickly. They managed to accommodate all my requests so smoothly, which I truly appreciated. The receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making my stay in Barcelona feel warm and genuinely welcoming from the very beginning. The location of the hotel is fantastic — everything is within walking distance, which made exploring the city so convenient. The room itself felt very secure and comforting, with a modern design. It was clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. I had a wonderful and restful stay for four nights. Another big plus was the complimentary 24-hour coffee and drinking water, which made the stay even more convenient and thoughtful. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona!

The room itself was really good: clean, comfortable and spacious. However, my first impression of the stay and the stuff of the hotel was suboptimal, which coloured the whole experience.  I arrived at the hotel at about 1 p.m. First thing that surprised me was the fact that there were actually 2 hotels and only one of them had a check-in desk, to find which I had to ask around. When I finally arrived at the reception, I was second in line as there were some people checking out. While I was waiting a family (parents and a child) came in, and then one more group of travellers arrived. When the receptionist was done with the people who were before me, I asked to be checked in. In response, I got told that she was going to check the family in first. She wasn’t apologetic or nice about, she told me this as if that was what always happened and not that people got served in the order of their arrival. I am sure the family really appreciated what she’d done and I wouldn’t have minded either if that action was followed with acknowledgement of this not being okay and an offer of some services to recover their reputation. Not only had I not got an apology or anything like that but also I was again bypassed for registration as the receptionist decided to invite 5 people who came in later on to check them out. At that point me and other people in the line were quite baffled by the behaviour and understood that there was nothing fair about this interaction. After I was  finally checked in and went back to the other side of the street for my hotel, the room pleasantly surprised me. It was clean and had all the necessary amenities. However, I was a bit confused at first by the thing you need to do to get electricity. I was told by a friend that the system of inserting the key card into a specific slot in order to get electricity is now the norm, but this month I’ve been to 5 different hotels and all of them had different systems and none of them were this particular one, so I personally would’ve appreciated a heads up or an informative poster on the door. The only downside of the room that I found was that that side of the street was quite loud. It was much better with the windows closed, however, if you are a light sleeper, I recommend taking ear plugs.  The rest of the stay went pretty okay for me, but that first experience unfortunately is something I’ll never forget.  If you are travelling as a family, I would imagine this hotel would prioritise you over other guests any time, so maybe that’s just who they cater to. As a solo traveler, however, this was not what I was expecting.

Nice, clean hotel with a decent-sized room and comfortable beds. I especially loved the shower! There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, which was really convenient. A couple of things would have made the stay even better — having a kettle in the room and a proper bin. There was an illy espresso capsule machine, but it didn’t work properly. Also, there wasn’t a bin in the room itself, just a very small one in the bathroom.

Daniel at the reception was wonderful. There's always water available, fruit-infused water at the front desk, and even gummies and marshmallows – a huge hit with the kids. All the attractions are nearby. We booked this hotel to go on a cruise, and we walked to the cruise port in 10 minutes with our luggage and child. The rooms are bright, clean, and the pillows are fantastic. For breakfast, there's coffee and fresh orange juice. Plus, all guests receive a complimentary bottle of wine in their room upon arrival. For Russian citizens without an international credit card, please note that a 100 Euro deposit is required at check-in; we paid in cash.

The biggest advantages of this hotel are its location and the 24-hour buffet. Situated in the heart of the city, most attractions are within walking distance, even if some are 2-3 km away. Public transport (bus) makes everything quickly and affordably accessible, so there's no need for a rental car, especially since parking garage fees are quite steep. The buffet offers a daily changing selection of dishes, and you can easily supplement and combine it with purchases from outside. Wine, beer, soft drinks, ice cubes, ice cream, and coffee are all available 24 hours free of charge. You essentially get full board. The bathroom and toilet are spacious, clean, and modernly equipped. My only minor complaint is the carpet throughout the hotel; I personally prefer hardwood floors. The hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful. We even received a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in a cooler with ice in our room. With the sparkling wine, the buffet, and some groceries from Plaça de Catalunya, we put together a dinner fit for a king. If you can do without a pool, this hotel is an excellent choice.

This is our 1st time having such a bad experience stay. We were asked via WhatsApp to provide our personal passport info and to pay hotel tax via a payment link in the WhatsApp, it was received well in advance before our check-in. We found this way is very unusual, and due to uncertainty whether the message was from the property , we declined to pay the tax upfront. Then the so-called property staff claimed we disrespect them. I found absurd as we have fully paid our accommodation and told them will fully pay the tax upon check-in, of which it was a small amount as compared to the total 3 nights stay rate. After checked in, we found only one toilet roll is given without any tissue. So we requested for an extra, and becoz the weather was warm, we asked for a thin bedsheet instead of a given duvet. The property staff said need to charge us £50 simply for a thin pc of bedsheet!! We found this is ridiculous and giving us an extra toilet roll, they were unhappy. What is the cost of a toilet roll as compared to the high rate stay of this property as compared to nearby accommodation? They gave us an under expectation unit, with no view (see photo) , which is so much difference from the advertised photo. They objected to change room for us even though we told them the safe deposit box is spoilt on the day after checking in. Goodness was that they wanted us to clear the trash bins to bring it to ground floor on our last day ! I havn’t encountered this at all even in dome AirBnB units. We asked for Trash bags as their bin has not bag, the property staff said they provide no trash bags! So how are we supposed to help them to clear the trash if no bags provided? U expect us to buy trash bag and help them to clean? Totally ridiculous! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED as the unit is small , odd room layout

My wife wanted to control the budget, so she booked this hotel. Well-prepared apartment, good value for money, and the location of the hotel is not bad. But the important point is that check-in and the apartment are not in the same place, and the local public transportation is inconvenient. And this information is not in the confirmation message. In the evening, I took two babies with my luggage, and walked one kilometer to the apartment, only to find that they had to check in at another place two kilometers away, and there was no effective means of transportation. Everyone can make up for the situation and mood at the time. It is hoped that Ctrip will clearly indicate this key information in the hotel's confirmation sheet. But if you know in advance, the most effective way is to take a taxi to check in first, let the taxi wait, and then go to the apartment. The fare is about 20-25 Euros. If you only stay for one night, the price/performance ratio is not good
