Hotel 2-Star di Alajuela, Costa Rica

The private room we stayed in was very comfortable and the small yard/garden is beautiful, and the owner is exceptional helpful. It is near the SJO airport, they provided transportation services for our arrival and leaving, in addition there are many attraction suggestions available by the owner, we bought one of the attractions, it was great. We're very happy to stay in this house, and will definitely come back again when visiting Costa Rica in the future.. almost forgot to mention that that breakfast is included and $6 for lunch which is a great price for one in the city, we had fish for lunch which was delicious.

You think you’ve booked a room like the one shown in the pictures, but instead you’re given the worst room. They use misleading photos, and when you question it, they tell you that you need to upgrade. To avoid the hassle, I ended up paying extra just to get the room I originally thought I had booked, especially since this was my first stop and I didn’t want to start my trip on a bad note. After contacting Trip.com, they compensated me. There is also no elevator and no assistance, so you have to carry your own luggage up and down the stairs.

The hotel was built around 1903 and it is lovely! As would be expected the rooms are small but they have everything we needed for a one night stay before our flight. The beds were comfortable. The courtyard provides a great environment for a glass of wine or some reading. The gentleman kindly chilled the wine we had purchased at a local store. We also took his recommendations about places to eat and had an enjoyable evening out.

Had the best stay here after a very disappointing stay at another property. Luis the property manager was so welcoming and attentive. The property itself is brand new, and tastefully done. Loved the hot tub, loved the towel and linen collection and really appreciated the rain shower. It was a pleasant stay and highly recommended. We enjoyed coming back to the loft after a day of exploring.

This house is so strategically located, less than 10mins to the airport...Hernandez is so helpful, assisted me with the laundry and offered pick up n drop off service to the airport for just 5 USD. Breakfast is self service with fresh fruit and milk etc. Definitely gonna stay here again when I come back to Costa Rica next time!

Good location. Many restaurants nearby. Hotel has a pool, I never used it but looked decent. Room has AC. No fridge or additional appliances basic room. Very nice staff. I felt welcomed. It does get nosey in the area, also active at night.

Wir waren für eine Nacht in der Kakao Lodge. Und der Aufenthalt war perfekt! Wir bekamen ein schönes und sauberes Zimmer mit toller Aussicht auf die Berge. Das Warmwasser, die Klimaanlage und das Internet liefen einwandfrei. Und es war schön ruhig. Ich wünschte wir hätten dort eine ganze Woche verbringen können.
