Hotel 3-Bintang di Bolivar, Colombia

I had higher expectations after staying at other Ibis locations such as in Rio de Janeiro (Posto 5). We stayed in a standard room with sea view which was a nice surprise. The air conditioning in the room was very silent and efficient but the beds not very comfortable. No fridge and I was told none of the rooms have a fridge. The room was of decent size and similar in that to other Ibis of that category. The window could not be really opened. On the bright side we did not hear any noise during our stay though the other rooms around seemed occupied. The space dedicated to the food (restaurant) was unappealing at best in my view. I found the breakfast to be rather basic. Maybe due to COVID there was no self service but people were served by the staff, which at times caused quite a line to form. Overall I found the staff to be rather cold. Not rude but not very friendly. This was true when facing staff at the reception, at the ”restaurant” and in general in the hotel (including cleaning staff). Possibly I got spoiled in Medellin where practically everyone is so friendly, welcoming and helpful... even more so in hotels. Also the reception staff seemed to have to follow complicated procedures probably aggravated by slow computers systems so the check in was not exactly fast. the location of the hotel is ok. It is an easy and rather quick walk to the old city and the airport is very close (in the other direction). The beach in front of the hotel, across the road, is typical for Cartagena, nothing spectacular but again I am probably spoiled. It was quite windy the two days and a few kite surfers visibly enjoyed both the sea and the wind.

The beds were like falling in clouds and the room was always immaculately clean 😁 the decor in the lobby was well thought about. But my favourite part was the staff they were sooo nice and engaging, nobody seemed like they were not enjoying work and they were very courteous and willing to assist at anytime. Big shout out to my favourite bar tender Luis from the lobby Angél from the Roof top bar, Leslie our lifeguard, Camilla one of our servers Daniella and Oneyeda from Reception and the ever so kind housing keeping staff and the the General Maanger Jacqueline. Shout out to Johnathan and Kenin and Mateo. You all made us Jamaicans who are hard to please very welcomed keep up the good work. The only thing I will say is that breakfast needs to be a bit more diverse as it was the same thing everyday that can get boring. P.S these guys need better pay for the service they Provide.

Todo estuvo muy bien en las habitaciones ,aseo y baño, la comida estuvo muy rica y hubo variedad de todo , el personal fue muy amable y querido especialmente el chef Carlos que cuando nos enfermamos el día anterior nos preparó un caldo de pollo al almuerzo , fue muy atento y cordial lo felicitamos por tenerlo en el hotel, le agradecemos , lo único que no nos gusto fue que nosotros teníamos el vuelo a las 10 PM , y el check-out fue a las 12 PM y nos tocó entregar la habitación y nos tocó sacar maletas y demás, no tuvimos derecho a estar en la misma habitación hasta más tarde y si la pedíamos teníamos que pagar una cantidad alta solo por 2 horas , también el televisor estaba teniendo fallas por 1 día y no servía si no hasta el día despues del medio día , también no tenían teléfono para poder comunicarse lo más rápido en recepción, si no tocaba bajar hasta recepción desde el piso 8, entonces pues fue un poco complicado, pero lo demás si estuvo excelente.

Lokasi hotel dan persekitarannya sangat baik, tetapi kakitangan meja depan terlalu buruk, tidak sebagus rumah tangga, dua bilik, satu daftar masuk selama 2 jam, dan satu daftar masuk selama lima jam. Periksa secara tidak dapat dijelaskan, ada bayaran tambahan di dalam bilik. Saya berbual dengan orang Cina yang sama yang memeriksa dan mengatakan bahawa ini adalah perkara biasa. Dia salah mengingati penggunaannya di bilik lain. Nasib baik, saya dapati bahawa ia telah berubah. Ia terlalu dakwat ...

Si pudiera darle más de 5 estrellas, se las daría. La verdad, excelente hotel en general. El servicio impecable, la comida deliciosa, las instalaciones son lindas y limpias, el cuarto tiene todas las comodidades, y está ubicado en un muy buen sector. Lo único que quizá podría mejorar es la cobertura del WiFi, pero es un detalle mínimo.

I was upgraded to this property from the OZ luxury hotel. I was pleasantly surprised by this action and enjoyed the larger room. I’m not sure what there is to complain about for this hotel. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The check-in process was easy and when we asked for recommendations for restaurants they were happy to help. Breakfast each morning was different Columbian cuisine which I enjoy when traveling. It was fresh with a good variety of choices. If the local cuisine is not your liking they make eggs to order which is a nice added touch. I loved being in the Bocagrande area it isn’t as busy as the walled city it is more of a beach town vibe. Uber to the other attractions ranged from $3-6. I can say I fell in love with this property and Cartagena and look forward to coming back soon.

I have stayed here a couple of times and also sent tourist groups. Both times I have been blown away by the excellent service, quality of rooms, comfortable beds. You won’t get hot water unless you are in a refurbished room but the water in Cartagena doesn’t go lower than warm 😂 Breakfast is varied and delicious, let them know in advance if you have allergies like Gluten free and they will do an arepa or adapt to suit, maybe too much fried for me but they are on the coast. The location is excellent as it’s on the border of Getsemani by the centenary park (monkey & sloth’s to be found inside!), just a 5 minute walk to the walled city - don’t recommend cutting through the comercial area after dark, go along park and through clock tower. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay so wonderful, we’ll be back.

The staff that attends this hotel knows precisely how to take good care of a guest. They are always willing to help and provide comfort and convenience to the guest, especially Daniela at the reception who was very attentive an her attitude of service is her best ally. Congratulations. On the other hand, the location of the Hotel and its cleanliness are two additional positive factors that favor preference for this Hotel. I will gladly return to this Hotel and highly recommend it.
