Hotel 2-Star di Samarkand Region, Uzbekistan

The hotel is located in the old city's residential area, making it easy to walk to the Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis and Registan Square. The location is excellent. However, I'm not sure if it was a system issue or something else, but when we arrived, our booked room wasn't available. We had to stay on the first floor for the first night and then move to the second floor for the second night, which was quite inconvenient. The hotel breakfast was just average. There's a three-generation naan bakery right outside the hotel, and their naan is absolutely delicious.

We were supposed to have a twin room, but they upgraded us to a family room. When you open the heavy door, there's a courtyard with rooms built around it. The courtyard had tables, chairs, and even a chaihana (tea house) seating area. There was an outlet next to the bed. The hairdryer was in the closet. The air conditioning and drainage worked perfectly. Oddly, the shower's hot water came out when you turned the blue knob, and the cold water from the red one. I had read reviews saying that when people asked for a replacement toilet paper roll, they were given a used one. However, when I asked, I received a brand new roll, so it seems they've made improvements. On our last day, the road in front of the hotel was closed due to construction, and the owner kindly helped us call a car and guided us. The handmade restaurant map was also very helpful, and we really appreciated all their assistance. The location is unbeatable, you will find yourself in the pedestrianised area connecting all the main historical attractions. However, the entrance is obstructed by the outside seating area of the restaurant next door(which has good food). You have to awkwardly make your way through the bbq smoke and diners in the evenings. The rooms are compact but sufficient and the air conditioning is good. However, the blinds barely do anything so it’s too bright in the early morning. Also, there was only cold water and colder water in the shower. There was a steady stream of dying ants making their way into my room each day, which was not ideal.

Even though I arrived late at night, I was kindly checked in and shown to my room. The hotel is located in a back alley, but it's easy to find as there are many signs. I could walk to all the tourist attractions in Samarkand. It was a great location. The breakfast was also very delicious.

The surroundings are quiet, peaceful, and safe, making it ideal for relaxing after a long journey. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and bright. Every corner is meticulously cleaned, the bedding is soft and high-quality, and the air temperature is always stable and comfortable. The bathroom fixtures are new and clean, water pressure is good, and hot water is always available without any issues. The room has all the necessary amenities: fast and stable internet, air conditioning, a TV, and other essential equipment. The hotel staff's service deserves the highest praise. The reception staff are very polite, patient, and attentive. The check-in and check-out processes were very quick and convenient, with no unnecessary waiting. I could get immediate answers to all my questions and requests, and the staff were always ready to help. Breakfast is very rich and delicious. There's a wide selection of national and international dishes, all prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Different dishes are offered every day, making each morning a pleasant start. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, and quality stay during their travels. I plan to return to this establishment again in the future!

It’s conveniently located near the city center, only about 2 km from Registan Square and other major attractions, making it very easy to get around. The room rates are affordable, with options for 2 or 4 guests, which is perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The host is incredibly kind, gentle, and always willing to help with anything you need. One of the highlights was the homemade breakfast prepared by the family — generous, delicious, and offering a wide variety of dishes each morning. We stayed for 3 days and chose this hotel for its proximity to Registan. The location is excellent, everything is close by. We were given a room on the first floor, which wasn't the one we booked. It only had a door with a tiny window, even though we selected a room with a large window by the bed. Breakfast from 8 to 10 AM was simple and the same every day. The bathroom was very small. However, there was always hot water and a good shower, which was a pleasant surprise. Thank you.

The room was very clean. Since we had to take off our shoes indoors, it felt very comfortable. Both the air conditioning and the TV were modern, making our stay very pleasant. The bed was also spacious and clean enough for a good night's sleep. The bathroom ventilation wasn't great, so I left the door open, but it wasn't a major issue. The staff's hospitality was excellent. I was reassured when they explained that female staff would handle laundry for women. Regarding the location, it's a bit far from tourist attractions, so a taxi is essential. There's a bus stop right in front. There are also delicious restaurants and a convenience store-like shop nearby, so we had no trouble with meals. I would definitely like to stay here again when I come back to Uzbekistan!

Besides standard items like coffee, tea, milk, juice, and eggs, they offered a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and local pastries every day. For tourists who spend their days exploring, such a high-quality breakfast is essential. The complimentary bottled water in the room daily was also very practical! Service: All hotel staff spoke fluent English and Russian, so communication was never an issue. They were polite, friendly, and always willing to help. We needed to book an English-speaking tour guide for the next day; after explaining it to the front desk, they immediately helped us contact someone and quickly finalized the booking. The day after our tour, upon returning to the hotel, the staff even followed up to ask if we were satisfied with the experience, showing truly excellent service. Environment: The hotel's location is superb, situated within a pedestrian street, making it very safe. Most major attractions are just a 10-minute walk away. There are many guesthouses and shops nearby, and a square not far off where many locals stroll and walk their children after the sunset cools down, making for a very pleasant evening walk. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience at the Sangzor Hotel and highly recommend it to other visitors coming to Samarkand!
