Hotel 2-Star di Samarkand Region, Uzbekistan

No hairdryer was provided, and the towels and bath towels looked very old, almost as if they weren't clean. The room door was incredibly difficult to open and lock; the host explained it three or four times before I finally got the hang of it, but it was still a struggle to operate. Even though Samarkand had already canceled the tourist tax by the time I checked in, the host still charged it. As for breakfast, it was very mediocre.

The hotel is conveniently located about one kilometer from Registan, Shah-i-Zinda, the mosque, and the Grand Bazaar, all within walking distance. It's a guesthouse in a small courtyard, clean and tidy, though some facilities are lacking (no toothbrushes, slippers, or an electric kettle). Hot water needs to be heated in the communal kitchen. The owner is very kind, provides a tourist map, and speaks English. When I visited, there was road construction, making it very difficult to get around, but it should be finished in a few days, so future guests will be lucky.

The location is unbeatable, you will find yourself in the pedestrianised area connecting all the main historical attractions. However, the entrance is obstructed by the outside seating area of the restaurant next door(which has good food). You have to awkwardly make your way through the bbq smoke and diners in the evenings. The rooms are compact but sufficient and the air conditioning is good. However, the blinds barely do anything so it’s too bright in the early morning. Also, there was only cold water and colder water in the shower. There was a steady stream of dying ants making their way into my room each day, which was not ideal.

☺️Things to enjoy: Location: literally 30 seconds away from the pedestrian walking street. Registan is just 10 mins away. Breakfast: it's not a buffet and you can't choose, but they cook you 2 home-made dishes (they differ every morning): could be pancakes with jam and fruits + another dish with meat. Staff: nice people, will help with anything they can. People from all over the world stay there: always nice to chat. 👀 What to watch out for: Rooms are quite old, and the carpet on the floor wasn't really clean, so I couldn't do my regular stretches. Towels smelled of mustiness (I guess bc they don't have a dryer). Rooms windows face the inside yard, so it's always way too dark in the rooms. No water bottles / tea / coffee provided in the room, no kettle, fridge, safe box in the room There isn't really a typical hostel / hotel common space to comfortably sit and chat - only this inside yard, but not sofas or room to play board games or comfortably sit.

Excellent hotel, a perfect experience in every way! I stayed at this hotel for a few days, and it was truly a top-notch experience. I've seen many hotels during my travels, but the service, cleanliness, and comfort of this establishment particularly impressed me. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, close to the city's main attractions, streets, and shopping centers. The surroundings are quiet, peaceful, and safe, making it ideal for relaxing after a long journey. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and bright. Every corner is meticulously cleaned, the bedding is soft and high-quality, and the air temperature is always stable and comfortable. The bathroom fixtures are new and clean, water pressure is good, and hot water is always available without any issues. The room has all the necessary amenities: fast and stable internet, air conditioning, a TV, and other essential equipment. The hotel staff's service deserves the highest praise. The reception staff are very polite, patient, and attentive. The check-in and check-out processes were very quick and convenient, with no unnecessary waiting. I could get immediate answers to all my questions and requests, and the staff were always ready to help. Breakfast is very rich and delicious. There's a wide selection of national and international dishes, all prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Different dishes are offered every day, making each morning a pleasant start. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, and quality stay during their travels. I plan to return to this establishment again in the future!

This guest house is a wonderful budget-friendly option in Samarkand. It’s conveniently located near the city center, only about 2 km from Registan Square and other major attractions, making it very easy to get around. The room rates are affordable, with options for 2 or 4 guests, which is perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The host is incredibly kind, gentle, and always willing to help with anything you need. One of the highlights was the homemade breakfast prepared by the family — generous, delicious, and offering a wide variety of dishes each morning. For easier navigation or when booking a taxi, it’s best to search for “Bilol Hotel” on Google Maps. Wishing this lovely guest house continued success and many more happy guests in the future!

優點:1.位置優越。距離雷吉斯坦廣場步行大約十五分鐘。2.前台小哥服務不錯，沒有電梯，拿行李上上下下，熱情周到。3.三樓有個觀景平台，有沙發桌子，適合休閑遊旅客。缺點:1.房型不標準，大床房空間有大有小。沒房了給我三人間，床的寬度目測0.8米。2.前台沒有pos機，預付擔保金也不能抵扣房費，衹能用現金付款。

The hotel's location is excellent, and although the room is small, it has everything you need. It's clear that it has been recently renovated, but the cleaning is poor. We asked for the room to be cleaned, but they didn't even sweep. Breakfast is simple but decent.

The room I got at this hotel was surprisingly good – clean and tidy! Since I was leaving Samarkand the next day, and this place was affordable and relatively close to the train station, I decided to stay here even though the amenities listed 'no bathroom.' Turns out, it had a bathroom, and it was a great wet/dry separation setup! I actually discussed this with the owner; he didn't understand Chinese and wasn't aware that the platform stated 'no bathroom,' so he'll be updating that. The owner was incredibly kind. He knew we were coming and waited for us at the entrance, and even helped us get a taxi when we left. He's honestly the best hotel owner I met in all of Uzbekistan, absolutely fantastic! I hope my Chinese friends who see this review will choose this hotel when in Samarkand, Uzbekistan – you'll thank me later. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures, so I'm using the hotel's photos.

Cleanliness: Although the hotel is a bit old, it's incredibly clean and well-maintained. There were no strange odors inside, which shows their excellent housekeeping and odor control. The lobby always had a faint fruity scent, and our room was spotless. Facilities: The hotel breakfast was fantastic! Besides standard items like coffee, tea, milk, juice, and eggs, they offered a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and local pastries every day. For tourists who spend their days exploring, such a high-quality breakfast is essential. The complimentary bottled water in the room daily was also very practical! Service: All hotel staff spoke fluent English and Russian, so communication was never an issue. They were polite, friendly, and always willing to help. We needed to book an English-speaking tour guide for the next day; after explaining it to the front desk, they immediately helped us contact someone and quickly finalized the booking. The day after our tour, upon returning to the hotel, the staff even followed up to ask if we were satisfied with the experience, showing truly excellent service. Environment: The hotel's location is superb, situated within a pedestrian street, making it very safe. Most major attractions are just a 10-minute walk away. There are many guesthouses and shops nearby, and a square not far off where many locals stroll and walk their children after the sunset cools down, making for a very pleasant evening walk. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience at the Sangzor Hotel and highly recommend it to other visitors coming to Samarkand!
