Bittersweet stay at Speeka. Bad weather first 2 days and few mayor sites still closed due to earthquake in 2020. Hostel is located at 3-lanes main street so prepare for the traffic almost 24/7. Windows are old so don't stop the noise. 1st two nights I slept in room number 9 and there were two other cranky beds making so much noise with every move made. Then I moved to nr 6 and it was much better. Staying there you need to be also prepared for coffee, tea and hot water shortages. And those shabby walls make an impression that the owner doesn't want to invest too much in renovation. Good thing is that hostel is in walking distance from the old town and everything is actually very closed. People are nice and helpful, thanks to the lady at the reception I managed to print a ticket for 2Cellos - without it I wouldn't enter cause they don't have scanners to read a ticket on smartphone screen. But the concert itself was also sad, maybe cause of those strings sound. I don't know what happened but most likely will visit Zagreb in a few years again and stay at some better place.

I recommend this hotel as it is very well placed to wander around Zagreb. It is clean, very good breakfast and the staff not just friendly but very helpful. When you have had a wonderful holiday it is always easy to write a good review but my review is based upon yes a lovely holiday but it had to be cut short by five days - I got quite ill and had to return to London. The response by staff could not have been better or more kind. Not only did they help me get organised to leave but they also waived the cost of the 5 days. They did not have to do this but chose to help and support me. So I cannot speak more highly of this Hotel and its staff. And thank them so very much for making this difficult time more manageable fr me. So this review in not simple about the physical attributes of this very well placed hotel but evolves from the leadership and priorities of the Hotel and staff to fundamentally serve its customers. A nice hotel in an ideal location (20 minutes walk from the airport terminal bus station, across the road from the train station, and 200 metres from the tram station). A very comfortable bed, soft pillows, and warm environment. A tasty breakfast.

The room (twin bed) is large and clean. The staffs are also very friendly. Althought the food selection during the breakfast is a bit limited, but the taste is quite nice with a comfortable dining environment as well. The hotel location is a bit far from city centre, but there is a tram station nearby the hotel, which is within 2 to 3 minutes walking distance.

It is a manless check in, you have to call the number by whatsapp and he will give you a code at the key locker and tell you your room. There is a small restaurant beside and the taxi to airport cost 15euro booked by the owner at 3.30am, taxi is only 5 minutes. Would recommend to anyone who has an early/odd timing flight.

I liked it, idk about location, I had a car. Plenty of parking in the back with a nice view from up hill. Big Fridge in the shared kitchen at ground floor and with freezer so you are able to put your blue icy box for the travel box. Croatian uber drivers are super speeders so take a throw up bag with you

- Close to the central bus station and 2 supermarkets. Perfect for travelers who need to catch an early bus - I got upgraded to a lager room and the room is spacious and comfortable - Plenty of choice for breakfast. Pizza in the restaurant is also great. - Overall very clean and staffs are welcoming

Hotel is near the tram station. Beds are perfect to sleep (not too soft). You also don't really hear traffic at night and the curtains are enought thick, so that its full dark.. And the breakfast is also perfect. Various food and drinks... Maybe few more tables woold be good. Free parking. 9/10

Close to the old town, walking distance to all tourist attractions. The staffs are nice and welcome. Feel like a home and free beverage! Nice! But the room and recption is small but understandable with such a price!
