Subtle yet luxurious, with friendly staff, including a Chinese-speaking receptionist. The doormen were also excellent, helping me pinpoint locations for taxis since ride-sharing apps default to no parking at the hotel. I had to verbally communicate with the driver upon arrival, and everyone here is very willing to help. The rooms are spacious, and bottled water, small soaps, and other amenities are replenished during turn-down service.

We had a fantastic stay at the Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands. Everything about our experience was wonderful. The highlight for us was definitely the pool. The water temperature was perfect—not too hot and not too cold—and our kids absolutely loved it. In fact, they didn’t want to get out! The view from the pool area was also amazing and made the experience even more special. Breakfast was great with plenty of options, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. They made us feel very welcome and well looked after. We will definitely stay here again in the future and have already recommended the hotel to our family and friends. A truly enjoyable stay!

The room itself was decent and the location was convenient, but the service was quite poor. First, when we arrived at the hotel, the concierge wasn't proactive about helping us with our luggage, and after check-in, no one helped us with our bags either. Maybe we didn't explicitly ask, but still, the room was generally okay. What was really ridiculous was when we extended our stay. We had already swiped our room key at the front desk, but the next day, the elevator wouldn't go to our floor – it was as if the key hadn't been successfully updated. Then, when we got to the room, the door wouldn't open. We went to the front desk three times, and each time they said it had been fixed. The last time, I asked if someone could come upstairs with us to check, and the front desk agent said if it didn't open again, we should call them to deal with it. It still didn't open. Eventually, an engineer came, and we showed him the problem. He used his card to open it. This was something that could have been resolved in one go, but it wasted so much time going back and forth, so I'm very dissatisfied with the service. Although we had a language barrier, we used translation apps and even found Chinese-speaking staff, so I don't think that was an issue. Because the location was good, we still extended our stay, totaling four nights. The last two nights were booked directly at the front desk. We waited a long time to check in again, and they ended up giving us a room right next to the elevator. The staff member, who seemed to be Southeast Asian, had a very perfunctory, almost rude, attitude. The soundproofing in the room was also terrible; the elevator going up and down sounded like a train passing downstairs, and I was woken up several times at night. Since we had too much luggage, we were too lazy to change rooms.

This hotel deserves a five-star review! I wish I had stayed at the Sheraton for my entire trip to Melbourne. It's in the city center, which is incredibly convenient, and even late at night, around 8-9 PM, there are still plenty of people around, making it feel very safe. When I checked in, there was a Chinese-speaking staff member available. Although the person who actually checked me in was of Indian descent, a Chinese colleague came over to make sure everything was alright before leaving. They even offered me a complimentary glass of champagne! The hotel room was spacious and clean, definitely the best I've stayed in during my past two weeks in Sydney and Melbourne. It certainly lived up to expectations! Right outside the hotel, there's a Rolex store, and if you walk down the street, you'll find the Town Hall and a church. There are plenty of options for dining, entertainment, and shopping. It's also not far from Australia's famous WWL? Or was it WWs?

Lovely room which has a big living space and overlooks into the gardens/ tennis courts. There is a big chess set near the gardens as well. Food at the restaurant is also delicious.

Great location for the theatre. We could see the Michael Jackson show sign from our room. Car park is off site and horrible to try and get a park in but only 5min walk from the hotel and $25/ day. Close to parliament station. China town and easily accessible to all city areas. Check-in and check-out were easy, staff were polite, and the happy hour was a nice touch. The room itself was compact but quiet, even being right by the lift. The bathroom, however, was tiny. No way two people could fit at once. The fan didn’t work so the mirror fogged completely, and the shower glass wasn’t long enough, leaving the floor soaked after every use. The bottom of the door showed water damage. Blinds let in light around the edges, and while the air conditioner was noisy, it didn’t really bother us. The luggage space wasn’t big enough to hold a hard case flat without tipping, which was a bit annoying but manageable. Breakfast was unfortunately the biggest low point. Service felt disorganised and slow. We waited almost 20 minutes for the rabke we were sat at to be cleared. The continental breakfast was uninspiring and pastries didn’t seem fresh. We paid an additional $5 per person for menu items since continental breakfast was included in our booking, but if I had paid the full $30–$35 separately, I would’ve been disappointed. Bacon was American-style (crispy), and they did do well offering coffee and tea promptly on arrival. However, the juice service was confusing. No glasses, limited plates, and unclear service flow. Amenities were almost non-existent. The “gym” was about the size of the bathroom with no treadmill or bike, and the rooftop could be much more inviting if it had a covered area or bar. Overall, the location saves it. Ok for a short city stay if you’re here for convenience, but not somewhere I’d choose for comfort or amenities. Unfortunately wouldn’t stay again and not great value for money in my opinion.

The room was incredibly spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the linens were top-notch. The front desk staff were very nice, and the WiFi was fast. The view was amazing! Right outside the north exit, you can stroll along the Yarra River to the sounds of beautiful music – it was incredibly chill. If you exit the south door and cross the street, you'll find a 7-Eleven, McDonald's, a great brunch spot, and a steak restaurant. Inside the hotel, there's KFC, Japanese, Thai, Italian, and Chinese restaurants, plus a food hall with lots of delicious and affordable Chinese options that stay open late. We even had some warm Singapore Laksa after coming back from the Great Ocean Road. Taxis are also convenient; the taxi stand is right in front of the waterfall lobby. Many day tour pick-ups are here too, so coming back late isn't a safety concern as you step right into the hotel. Public transport is also good, with tram lines 85 and 96 very close by, and Flinders Street and the Cathedral within walking distance. I feel like I made the right choice! I booked it for over 1200 a night, and it's much better than what you'd get for 1200 in city centers like Beijing, Shanghai, or Shenzhen.

The room was spacious, bright, and very new. It came fully equipped with a washing machine, microwave, and induction hob. The hotel is conveniently located just 200 meters from a tram stop and 300 meters from a bus stop. It's also very close to Chinatown, making it an excellent location overall. If you plan to stay, remember to book in advance, as it's often fully booked.

The location is fantastic, right in Chinatown. Stepping out, you're surrounded by various Chinese restaurants and supermarkets, so there's no need to book breakfast. It's in the CBD, so many attractions are nearby, and a free tram stop is just a short walk away. The room is spacious and very clean. However, the service and amenities are just average. There's no water in the room; you have to go to the corridor to get it, and you need to bring your own slippers, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The biggest drawback is also the location. Chinatown turns into a bar street at night. After 8 PM, the area gets very chaotic with teenagers, drunk people, homeless individuals, and sex workers, which can be a bit intimidating. If this bothers you, you might consider booking a hotel in a quieter neighborhood that's not as central or in an upscale area. If you do stay here, it's best not to go out after 9 PM, although it's very normal and great for exploring during the day. Overall, for this price in Melbourne city center, I think it offers good value for money.

The overall experience at this hotel was outstanding. The rooms are spacious, never feeling cramped, which is especially great for families or guests on an extended stay. The in-room amenities are comprehensive, with practical kitchen facilities and a washer/dryer that perfectly meet all your living needs while traveling. The hotel's location is both safe and quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, always smiling when assisting with check-in or answering questions, which made us feel very comfortable. The clean and tidy sanitation, along with the modern and stylish decor, also added significantly to the stay. Whether for business travel or a leisure vacation, this place truly offers a comfortable and convenient 'home away from home'.
